CHAPTER 7 MODELS OF CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT
7.1 IntroductionEffective classroom management maximizes children learning opportunities. The order view emphasized creating and applying rules to control students behaviour. The never view focuses more on students needs for nuturing, relationship and opportunities for self regulation.Classroom management that orient students towards passivity and compliance with rigid rules learning, high order thinking and social construction of knowledge. The new trend in the classroom management places more emphasis on students self discipline rather than externally controlling them. In the current learner centred trend in classroom management, teacher is more of a guide, guide and facilitator.In the following, three important models of classroom management are described.
